DML Classic Auto Body is a auto body repair business owned and operated by Darwin M. Leisman in St. Anthony, Indiana, which is in Dubois County.  Darwin specializes in collision repair and classic car restoration, but any auto body or large scale painting jobs are welcome, including motorcycles and other vehicles.  Darwin's classic rebuilds have won awards in many local car shows, and at least one vehicle was featured in a magazine (Vintage Trucks, Ertel Publishing). Other examples of his work will be featured on this website under the 'Gallery' section of this website.

History
The business headquarters was built by Mr. Leisman himself and a contractor friend between 1995 and 1997 specifically tailored for auto body repair.  Darwin began repairing vehicles in 1979, and has remained a professional auto body repair technician and painter ever since.  He has an array of certifications, is a PPG certified painter, and still takes yearly courses in auto body repair to ensure he is up-to-date with the most modern techniques and materials. New and old, big and small, chances are Darwin has fixed it.

What We Do
The building as it stands now is outfitted with an array of features, including a paint mixing room, dual industrial grade air compressors, storage space, and a working are big enough for fire engines, semi-trucks, and even some buses. Word of mouth, partially due to car show exhibitions, has grown the business to allow for more equipment, such as a frame puller, to allow for an even wider array of jobs that can be done right here in the shop. Darwin has performed frame-off restorations of classic cars, rebuilds of semi-trucks, restoration of fire engines, he's repaired the local Bookmobile, repainted motorcycles, and has even painted some farm equipment.

Our facility allows us to repair, paint, and straighten vehicles in one place. We do not have our frames pulled at another shop, nor do we use outside people for paint. It's all essentially done by one man in one space. This means one man knows the job he's doing inside and out, and he's the only one you need to talk to when it comes to your vehicle. He does the estimate, he buys the parts, and he installs them.

Darwin has decades of experience in painting vehicles, and this speaks volumes in his work. He has experience painting all types of paint, including layered and iridescent paint jobs. He only uses top quality paint and materials that last. Other shops may cut corners and use cheaper materials, but because DML is a largely word-of-mouth business, we cannot afford doing a bad job, or having a job not last. We stand by our work, and we have an A+ rating with the Better Busniess Bureau.
